“I am the Raptor King, boy. Magic was made to keep you soft and fragile humans alive. Those of us with natural gifts have no use for such things.”
-Tal, King of Raptors

Washed ashore in a new world, Juste must learn to survive in the dangerous realm of Calm. Following the lead of the legendary Raptor King, the young man is pulled into a world of magic and cataclysm that he might not escape. Joining with a band of warriors and wizards out to save their kingdom, he must find his place in a fantastic land that seems destined for destruction. Somewhere at Calm’s end lies the key to saving the desperate world. Perhaps other worlds, as well.

The Kingbeast is a vile and unstoppable creature that has spent years reducing the Four Kingdoms to waste. Few settlements remain that have survived the unholy purge. The last kings of Calm have all but abandoned hope. A few unwavering warriors refuse to concede their world to the powers of evil, among them the great Raptor King. The arrival of a messenger from beyond the Endsea sparks the hope that there is still one final play to be made. The stand they make will either drive back the creatures of darkness, or hasten the end for all that remain in the ravaged land.

“The Raptor King is a simple tale. A love letter to classic fantasy of old, it doesn’t try too hard to change the world, but appeals to the love of fantastic realms and importance of preserving what we care about most.
-J.W.

The Raptor King is a brisk and inviting story designed for teens and adults alike. Full of suspense and humor, it’s a tale that journeys across the land of Calm at a breakneck pace and doesn’t let up.
